Sunday Services @ 9:15am & 10:45am
Weekly Bulletin: October 22, 2017
November is right around the corner and that means it’s “officially” SHOEBOX TIME! Operation Christmas Child is our annual children’s project where we collect gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. We invite everyone to fill empty shoeboxes with a “wow” item—like a doll or soccer ball—and other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and notes of encouragement! National Collection Week is November 13-20 this year. We are asking all of our Pinedale folks to bring their boxes on or by Sunday, November 19th when we will dedicate and pray over our shoebox gifts. **Note: No Candy or toothpaste will be accepted in the boxes this year. Please include $9 for shipping for each box packed.

Are you looking for a place to serve? Consider volunteering for the Communion Prep Team in 2017. There is an IMMEDIATE NEED in this area. You would be responsible for preparing the communion trays for Sunday services on a rotational basis. If interested, contact Steven Widener.
There is an immediate need for Celebration Place (Children’s support) volunteers during CR on Thursday nights. There is also a need for van drivers. Please contact Ray Keeton if interested.
The Baptism Team could use your help. Each Sunday morning we have volunteers who commit to be there before services to help with any baptisms. You would be assigned to serve for one month in either the 9:15 am or 10:45 am service. If you would be willing to help with this important ministry or have questions, please contact Linda Sutton.
Help us fill our boxes! Pinedale is committed to collect 180 boxed dinners each month for Crisis Control Ministries. We have been falling consistently short in meeting our goal, so we need your help. Place your donations in one of the decorated boxes throughout the church.
If you have questions about Crisis Control or would like to volunteer, contact Vicki Jones at 336.724.7875, ext. 1043 with questions.
We are looking for artistic eyes and button pushers for our audio visual team! We need people to run lyric slides and wall projectors. We can train you to join our already awesome team! For more information, contact Daniel Baranowski.
This is for families with children or youth that have recently been visiting Pinedale. A Sunday School Class for the Deaf meets at 9:15 am in Room 202. This class is led by our Deaf Minister, Brad Schaaf.
Dollar Club Sunday is the second Sunday of each month. We ask that you place an extra $1 bill in the offering bag. All single $1 bills will be used to help people in our church family or the community in the name of Jesus Christ. (Only single $1 bills apply, any other amount will be added to the General Fund.)
Are you interested in learning to crochet/knit? Or perhaps you may already know but would like to join our group to enjoy the fellowship. We are meeting each Tuesday night from 6:30-8:00PM in Room 207. Our goal is to have fun but also to work on projects to give away as an outreach. (washcloths, baby hats, hats and scarves for the homeless) Bring your own supplies and join us! Contact the Church Office if you have questions.
A new men’s Bible Study, Detours, began on August 30th at 7:00pm in Room 203. The biblical account of Joseph clearly demonstrates that God is at work even when life seems to be going wrong. Even today, it’s easy to wonder why God would allow calamity to happen. This study by Tony Evans helps believers navigate detours that may take you through trials, injustice or betrayal. You will be comforted and encouraged when you learn to rest in God’s redemptive plan and the hope found in His sovereign will. Contact Rick At Lee for more information.
Come join us for a fun time of fellowship, exercise and sharing Jesus Christ. Every Tuesday morning at 10:30AM. Skill level: Beginner to intermediate. Meet at the Salem Lake parking lot at the dam. For more information contact Paul Siwinski (336-624-7343) or Steve Garling (336-813-7320).
Are you interested in singing? You should consider joining the Pinedale worship choir this fall through spring. Practices are each Wednesday at 6:45pm in the Worship Center. For more information, contact Kristen Adkins.
The Pinedale Prison Ministry is now collecting items for the Forsyth Jail and Prison Ministry. There are very specific items the jail will accept: Lotion, Bar Soap, Shampoo, Toothpaste, Black Toboggans, Toothbrushes (single packages). All toiletries must be full size. Place the items in the designated box in the Church Office.
There is an immediate need for a MALE volunteer, for Monday nights at the Forsyth Correctional Center on North Cherry Street from 6:45pm until 8:30pm. This volunteer will help with the study and discussion, have some input as to the studies we choose and once comfortable he will prepare and lead some lessons (we rotate/split). It will take several months for the new volunteer to get through the application and orientation process, so they probably wouldn't actually start until after the first of the year.
We ALSO need a musician, keyboard or guitar, (male or female) that is willing to accompany us to the JAIL for Sunday MORNING services (arrive at 9:30am, out at 11:15am) about 6 times per year. That volunteer would have to attend training near the end of January and would not be approved until mid-April.
Our Prayer Team now meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. If you would like to join the Prayer Team we meet at 6:45PM in Room 205 to pray for the corporate needs of the church, the staff and any other personal prayer requests. If you have questions contact Larry Burgess.
A new Women's Study began on Tuesday, Sept 26th and Wednesday Sept 27th. We will be studying A Woman Who Doesn't Quit: 5 Habits from the Book of Ruth. We are living in a day where we are encouraged to do life based on how we feel. But the problem is most days we don’t feel like doing much of anything hard. Then there is Ruth. She is much more than a Bible story and through her life we uncover five life-giving habits. These habits teach us to pursue discipline and the desire to determine our daily direction. The direction of our lives needs to be less about to-do lists and accomplishments. Instead focus on becoming the people God can count on. Various teachers will lead Wednesday nights (7:00pm), and Darlene Talbot will facilitate Tuesday nights (6:00pm) in Room 204.
Women of all ages (from 16-116), the Titus 2 Community of Sisters will host an autumn brunch on Saturday, October 28th from 10am to 12noon in the Family Life Center. We will enjoy delicious home cooking, hear an inspiring message and connect with other women in the body of Christ. Whether you joined us for our group this summer or not, we would love for you to join us. ALL women are welcome. To RSVP or for questions, contact Ashley Widener.
